Hey Dog Lovers,
Today I talk about an adorable new program started in 2018 that allows people to adopt K9s who failed their training programs.
TSA dogs are commonly seen in airports and these hard working pups were not born to do this. They had to go through an intense training program after being hand selected to go through the program. As you can guess by this article not all dogs have the right personality or determination to pass the training. Keep reading to learn about the TSA adoption program to help these dogs.
When dogs fail the government training course, it can be for numerous reasons; they don’t have a good personality match, they prefer napping over running, prefer sniffing snacks over contraband and instead of chasing down the bad guys they greet everyone with love and a wagging tail.
Despite all the in depth training they go through, these dogs are adopted out free. Finding them loving homes is the TSA’s main priority. The first step in applying for one of these pooches is to fill out an extensive application as the government needs to know they are going to good homes with the best intentions. You must also meet home requirements with a fully fenced in yard and permanent living situation. The entire process can take up to a year but in the end they are absolutely worth the wait.
