Today we talk about Apple flavored dog treats. One of New England’s favorite Fall past times is Apple Picking. My Bf and I went last weekend and to our surprise we weren’t the only ones. Apple picking season ends in November according to many apple orchard sites so we weren’t sure what the pickings would be.
We went to Bishop Orchard’s in Guilford, CT. We have been going there for a few years now and are never disappointed. The walk through the orchards are actually quite peaceful. In our haul we got 50 lbs of apples, apple cider and apple cider donuts. Pricing wasn’t too bad, its affordable and reasonable.
With all these apples I knew I was not going to eat them so I had to come up with some other ways to make them last, Apple pie, boyfriend made Apple fritters but then it hit me, apples are safe for dogs. Dog treats are the way to go, save some money on new treats and make my own.
