Hey Dog Lovers,
Today I talk about dogs eating cat poop, a favorite topic of all. In short we need to keep the “kitty roca” off the menu.
Why do they eat poop? – tastes like cat food
Is is dangerous? – it can be as not only eating poop cause digestive upset for dogs but can be a source of transmission for intestinal and other parasites.
Signs of Suspicion:
- Lack of appetite
- Painful abdomen
- Decreased energy
- Decreased energy
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Bad breath, cat litter between teeth
Tips to keep them out:
- Put litter box in a room behind a baby gate
- Use a gate hook and eye or another set up to prop your basement, bathroom or closet door open wide enough to get through while keeping your dog out
- Install a cat door
- Put a little box behind a couch, blocking off your dogs access with a strategically placed baby gate or another piece of furniture
- Put up on a laundry table or countertop that the dog can’t reach
- Frequent litter box clean outs will help
