Dogs are such unique creatures and each one is different in temperament and training styles. It is important to note it is never too late to start training your dog. It is harder to train an older dog but not possible. With the right tools, a little knowledge and a professional you can have your dog trained in no time. The importance of training tools is to help guide the dog to do behaviors we want.
Some Common Tools I Use:
Easy Walk Harness
Great tool to help reduce pulling. Alone is not going to stop pulling; it just helps when training a dog to loose leash. Its designed with a front clip harness that helps control their chest. It does have health concerns on shoulders if used wrong. It is meant again as a tool to walk your dog, not as an everyday tool.
Slip Leash
This leash and collar combo help teach the dog leash pressure and how to turn it on and off. It is my best tool to teach loose leash walking. It is also a great tool used to easily loop and move dogs when in boarding, daycare, grooming and vet offices.
Martingale Collar
Similar to the slip leash it helps with leash pressure. But this collar also helps with dogs that like to slip out of their collars. When they try to back out it tightens.
Treats
Using different variations of treats such as cheese, hotdogs, bocce bakery treats, fruitless and freeze dried liver treats. Use different levels of treats for different scenarios
Treat Pouch
Used to hold treats and other personal items. Avoids messy pockets.
